“Changing” Metaverse Research and Study with Jissen Women’s University

Jissen Women’s University (Shibuya, Tokyo), in collaboration with Gloding Co., Ltd., has launched the “Changing” Metaverse research project. The “Changing” project, which began in the 2020 academic year as part of an edutainment initiative, aims to develop a structure where users can learn color theory experientially with multiple participants.

In the 2020 academic year, the project was implemented as an iOS app, where users could learn the primary principles of color and the three elements of color through a game in a 6×6 grid in a 2D space. Users could also layer images they took themselves, using real-world colors to deepen their understanding of color recognition in a more realistic context.

In the 2021 academic year, the project was expanded to the Metaverse, and various possibilities were explored and experimented with on platforms such as SANDBOX and Decentraland. The focus of this phase was to investigate and test how “Changing” could be implemented within the Metaverse from different angles.
